‘CHARRED PILE’
RECEPTION DESK FOR BOLT, SAN FRANCISCO, CA.
The client, Bolt IO, is a venture capital company based in Boston and San Francisco that is an early investor in hands on, inventor driven and women own companies. They were attracted to the idea of a reception desk as a pile of raw materials, as that is what they see in their portfolio of companies. The brutalist design started with a pile of lumber and built upon it to create an built structure that supports plantings of all kinds.
The desk accommodates two working stations, cord management and has a small cabinet for storage.
Built from rough hewn lumber, dyed black with brass hardware.
